A 12-BORE FLINTLOCK DUELLING PISTOL SIGNED FOWLER, no visible serial number, circa 1810, with 10 in. octagonal swamped sighted barrel marked 'FOWLER - DUBLIN' on the top flat with engraved tang, border-engraved stepped lock signed 'TATHAM & EGG', swan-necked hammer, walnut stock with chequered grip and oval white metal monographed escutcheon, spurred and engraved trigger-guard with pineapple finial, white metal butt-cap, heavily worn, lock an ill-fitting replacement with a missing safety slide, lock screws replacements, butt-cap dented, stock badly cracked at the fore-end, with losses, nose-cap missing, rammer a poor replacement, action at fault, 14 3/4 in. overall
